Raw dog food calculator

Enter the raw recipe you feed, BARF or prey-model. The free check scales it to your dog’s calories and compares every nutrient with the AAFCO adult maintenance profile. The paid plan adds the proportion builder, exact grams and the supplements that close the gaps.

Raw meat carries real risk. The AVMA discourages feeding raw or undercooked animal protein to dogs, and the FDA warns that raw pet food can carry Salmonella and Listeria, for the dog and for the people who handle it. If you feed raw, handle it like raw meat for your family and keep it cold.

Ratios are a starting point, not a guarantee. A ratio-perfect bowl can still be short on zinc, iodine, vitamin E or vitamin D, and over on others, depending on the meats you use. That is why the check looks at every nutrient, not at the percentages.

What about the bone?

Bone supplies the calcium in a raw diet, but how much depends on the cut, the animal and how much meat is on it. USDA’s food data covers the edible part of bone-in cuts, not the bone, and we haven’t found lab data we trust for raw bone. So we don’t guess: FidoFormula balances calcium with a powder you can weigh (calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate or eggshell). If your supplier publishes a lab analysis for a bone-in product, such as ground chicken with bone, add it as your own ingredient (paid) and the balancer uses its calcium and phosphorus.

When raw feeders pay for a formulator

Free recipe builders that run on a fixed ingredient list don’t do raw. FidoFormula takes raw USDA entries in the free check, and the $19 plan adds the BARF and PMR proportion builder, your own ingredients and supplements, and re-balancing when you switch proteins.
